We are pleased to announce that our next resident artist, Denver Garza (Phillipines) will come to Hachinohe, Japan !!!!

フィリピンはマニラからアーティストのデンバー・ガルザを招へいします。青森県八戸市にて、10月から1ヶ月程度の滞在です。どうぞよろしくお願いいたします。

Denver Garza creates works as an analyses to modern behavior; rituals, beliefs, reaction/interaction to phenomena that affects and shapes the identity of our society.

As a trained psychologist, he tends to investigate in the collective consciousness, through dialogue and research, and use paintings, collage and assemblage works as a vehicle to make a visual phenomenology or dialogue of such of cases, while referencing various psychological frameworks.

Such cases come from either heightened or mundane behavioral occurrence experienced within the social climate. 

1987 年生まれ、31 歳のデンバー・ガルザは、近代的なふるまいに対する疑問をもとに作品制作を行っています。それは、私たちの社会を形作ったり影響を与えたりしているような、儀式や信仰、諸現象に対する世界の反応や作用に対する懐疑です。大学院で心理学を学んだデンバーは、様々な種類の心理学的な枠組みを参照しながら、対話や調査を通じて集団意識について研究しています。

同時にそれらの事象をアートを通じて視覚的に論じるために、ペインティングやコラージュ作品の制作、ワークショップ等を行っています。
